BEAT THE BACK TO WORK BLUES
Even if you absolutely adore your job, its never easy going back after the holiday season. The Summer shenanigans were fun but now its well and truly time to return to work and face reality (and those thousands of emails you've been avoiding) But it doesn't have to be a complete drag, start fresh with these helpful hints on how to beat those 'back to work' blues.
Organise yourself the night before, pack your lunch, iron your shirt, lay out your outfit. Don't leave yourself with no time in the morning - rushing around like a crazy person because you're going to be late on your first day back; its not a good look. Having yourself ready the night before will save you a world of stress.
Sort yourself out:
Okay so we know (first hand) that its no easy task, but you're going to have to sort out that inbox of yours. Delete and save as necessary and bask in the satisfaction it will bring you. Theres nothing worse than looking at that envelope icon and seeing '1000 emails unread'. The OCD in you will bottle up every time you look.
Get out more:
Studies show that getting your butt outside to eat your lunch can do wonders for your mood, productivity and even stress levels. We all know the work will be crazy when you first head back but honestly 15 minutes in the sun will do you so much good - plus its a great way to keep that babe'n summer tan!
Get a hobby:
If you're stuck in the same routine day in and day out.. wake up, work, watch tv, instagram/facebook, sleep, repeat.. its seriously time to take up a hobby. Start up a sports team, (it doesnt have to be competitive, get your friends together for a game of netball or soccer once a week) If anything it'll be a good laugh!
Plan your next Getaway:
To get over those feels of returning to work, plan something in the future that'll be fun - book in your next leave and plan a trip somewhere. Even if its just down south or even a weekend away some place nearby - its much easier to throw yourself into hard work when you have something to look forward to.
These are just a few little things that we have found seriously help when you get yourself into a rut of the same routine day in and day out.
